[Short] Halloween Report

Elder Boothe didn't have time to write for the blog this week, so here is a short excerpt from the parents' email:

Halloween over here is different, but it's turning more into what it's like in the States. This is basically the first year the supermarkets had a whole aisle of halloween stuff, last year there was just a little. But no one really goes trick or treating, only a few. The lady we live with only bought 1 bag of candy and she should have lots of extras.

Anyway, the work is going really good. We're working with two people preparing for baptism in December and that's cool. I just want to focus on them at the moment and really help them in any way possible.

And here's a British saying: Keep calm and carry on!
Have a great day!

Hello! Staying in Aldershot!

Picture 1- Ann and Elder Kendell and me.
Picture 2- Elder White and me.
Hello! It's transfer day and Elder Kendell is moving to Chichester and I am staying in Aldershot. Elder White is coming into Aldershot, he's from the same MTC group and he's from Bountiful, Utah. I'm excited for this next transfer, it should be good. I don't have much else to say, but I'm really looking forward to the transfer.

oh yeah, a lady (Kizzie) we're teaching has accepted to prepare to be baptised on December 3rd! That's exciting too, but we haven't been able to contact her for a few days so hopefully everything is still good. I will send an email on Halloween. :) Bye!

Blah-g email.

Picture 1- Halloween candy, mwahaha!

Picture 2- It looks like we were clubbing, but we were actually just on a rail-replacement coach.
Hi! This was a good week! And we met a Polish guy who was baptised in 2005 and then moved to England. So that's way cool and we're hoping to get him connected with the church here. He really wanted to meet more Mormons, so we can help him with that. :) Also this week, we met someone from Arizona, and someone from Colorado! Both of which were extremely nice, but not interested. Oh well.

The work is going SOOO SLOOW! We're really trying to find new people to teach, and we did find one this week, so that was really good! We just need to keep going. The whole mission is in a dip at the moment, but sometimes that's just how it goes I guess. :) I am really enjoying life, though, and we're working hard. So those are the things that are really what's important.

Next week is transfer week. I think I'll stay and get a new companion, but we'll see what happens. So I'll be emailing Wed or Thursday. Bye!

Hi

Picture 1- My companion throwing his shoes down the stairs at me. (haha, okay, he wasn't throwing them at me)
Hello! This week went really quick. And not a lot happened. I went on an exchange with Elder Wells to Guildford. We had a good time and talked to loads of people. We also had interviews with President Shamo on Saturday, and that was good.

Our teaching pool at the moment is... very small. :D We are teaching a few people, but this week none of them could meet with us. So this next week should be a lot better. It's already looking like it will be a good week, even this morning as we were walking here to email, a few people asked if we'd help them carry some pieces of wood. So we did, and they were nice but not interested. Hopefully it wasn't stolen wood... Hmm, oh well. But despite the work not going too well, I'm happy. I don't have anything better to talk about so I'll talk about the weather. We've had a few cold days, and then a few really hot days, then a few cold days, and now today it's supposedly going to be 72 degrees. And they still say there will be snow in October. We'll see about that.

Sorry for such an uneventful email. I'm sure more happened, but I can't think of anything particularly note-worthy. :/ Anyway, I am doing good! Love you all, bye!

A Conference Week!

The pictures are of all the companions I've had that are still in the mission at the mission conference we had this week.

Picture 1- Elder Keck and me!

Picture 2- Elder Evans and me and Andrews and Crystal.

Picture 3- Elder Tomlinson and I!
[Note from Mom: I can't decide if Eric is trying to be funny about Elder Tomlinson being the angel statue, or if he sent a different picture than he intended! But it's a cool shot either way :-)]
Hello! Well this week was really good! On Tuesday we had a mission conference which was really good, and I got to see a lot of good friends. It was a very good conference and I learned lots from it. Then of course Saturday and Sunday was General Conference which was also really good. I liked to see President Monson be really funny in his talks, and he still got the point across really powerfully. A theme I got from all the talks was Courage. Courage is just a good attribute to have and I want to work on it! So that's something I'll be thinking about.

Other things that happened this week was that we were dropped by a really cool lady named Maria. She had asked her husband and her family about the church after searching it up on the internet, and by doing so got a lot of misinformation. And then her husband basically forbid her to consider it anymore, and that was kind of sad. We asked her to have him call us so we could address his concerns, so hopefully that will happen. We also found a lot of cool people this week, who we should be going by with some members later this week.

I'm doing really well, I have set a goal to get someone to church this week who hasn't been before, so I'll see how that goes and report on that next week. :) Bye!
