Hello! Things are good!

Hello there! This week has been good, I'm feeling very good!

We met this guy named Peter and have stopped by him twice now, and he really likes talking to us, but not always about religion. He showed us his stamp collection, which I think he said was worth a few thousand pounds. I think he had over 2500! So that was interesting, I'd never really seen a stamp collection before. He had some from the late 1800's, so that was pretty cool. And he said that he'll come to church one of these weeks, so we'll see when that happens. :) We met one cool lady named Tracy who said she doesn't know much about Mormons and so we're going back on Thursday to tell her! She's cool, she writes poetry and said she has friends all over the world who look to her for inspiration. So hopefully we'll be able to help her find more inspiration to share. :) We've met a few people on the street who are so angry at God because their family has died or bad things are happening to them. I really wish I could help them not be so bitter and angry, because that's a terrible way to live and wouldn't wish it on anyone. But sadly they won't even hear us out so all you can do is basically tell them that God does in fact love them as they're walking away. I wish people didn't like being so miserable, haha.

I'm reading Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage at the moment, and it's a great book. I love it, and he puts things so well. I can't explain, just go read the chapter on the Sermon on the mount and you'll see what I mean. I'm also reading in the Old testament, and I'm up to the book of Numbers! It's a bit tedious at times, but overall it'll be cool just to know the actual history of the Old testament from start to finish.

So yeah, learning is fun! :D

I love all you guys, and I hope you are all doing good. I'll type to you next week, bye!

Staying Put In Eastbourne

Eric is staying in Eastbourne with Elder Evans this transfer, so he'll be there at least six more weeks. He ran out of time for a blog email, so he asked me to report that he is doing well and not much is changing. Here is a clip from his email to me:

"My week has been pretty good. . . . The ward made a movie for a stake movie night, and they asked us to be in it. It's called "Eastbourne Rock" by jetpackpics, I think. . . . But yes, I'm doing really good. I'm enjoying the work, even though it's still not very productive. So yeah. I don't have much to say!"

Here's the Eastbourne Rock video:

I've been in Eastbourne for nearly 5 weeks already?!

Pictures aren't working this week because we're at a new shop and it doesn't work for some reason. :( Sorry.

Wow, time is flying! I can't believe I've been here for almost 5 weeks. It's the last time I'll email before transfer day, so next email will be in the middle of next week sometime, either Wednesday or Thursday. This last week was good. We had a Zone Conference on Wednesday, and that was really helpful. On Thursday we went to a town about 20 minutes away on a bus (and 45 on a train. We took the train because we didn't know about the bus. :( ) that neither of us had been to before so we thought we'd try it out. It was kind of a small town, and the people there were kind of in a little bubble. It was weird, no one wanted to talk to us. But we did have one ray of sunlight. We found a fish and chips place that sold the best fish and chips that I have ever before tasted, and we managed to get the Pensioner's deal so it was quite cheap. They said it was a one time only deal, haha. But oh well.

The rest of the week was good too. One guy gave each of us a huge fruit basket of quality fruit, so that was nice. Getting a fruit basket makes you feel good, somehow. And on Sunday night as we were knocking, we found two people in a row that were willing to read the Book of Mormon! It was so nice to meet some people who are actually open to try something.
So I think the events of this last week have all added up to something, and we feel that something has changed. Something really good! So this week will be good, and we'll also find out if we're both staying or if one of us is moving next week.

I love all of you, happy Valentine's day! :P Bye!

This week in Eastbourne...

Picture 1- Me and Elder Foong on exchange in Brighton.

Picture 2- Homemade sweet and sour chicken!

Picture 3- Dinner we made from scratch for ourselves and the lady we live with.

Hello! This week was good. I went on another exchange in Brighton, this time with Elder Foong from Malaysia, and that was really good. We had two really nice teaches with people who were actually interested in reading and learning, so that was good. Then we talked to a Jehovah's Witness for about an hour, which actually was pretty good. He seemed like a nice guy, and was open to learning what we believe about certain things. And then later that evening I nearly followed a stranger home on accident! :D We got off the bus and it was dark and I looked around for Elder Foong, and I thought I saw him, so I went running after him and walking along side him. Then as I turn to talk to him, I realize that this man I chased is not in fact Elder Foong at all! He was a bit frightened I think, having a Mormon missionary chasing him down at night. :D But all was well, both me and the real Elder Foong couldn't stop laughing for nearly the whole night.
Well, I don't really have other good stories about teaching, because we have no one to teach at the moment! But we have had some funny finding experiences, and also some really good ones. So all in all, I'm doing good. The ward is treating us well, we're getting fed quite oft. So that's good, we just need to persevere until we find those people to teach! I love all of you, have a good week!
