Hello

Picture 1- A.... bowtie...?

Hello there! How are you? I've been good this last week, but it was a bit of a hard week. Lots of things cancelled (what else is new, haha) but that's ok. This week is going to be really good though! As of yesterday, we have NINE MEAL APPOINTMENTS this week!!!! :D We have a few with members who are bringing their friends, and a few with less active members. So I'm well chuffed for that! But that's not the only reason it will be a better week, there will be a lot of other good things. :)

Recently I've been studying the teachings of Joseph Smith, and I've got to say that they are just great! They make me really think about, and then afterward, understand things I've been thinking about. I really love what he says about missionary work, and also how to live in peace with others. So I'm studying both of those things and am trying to use them in my missionary work. One thing he said was that he "never felt to force his doctrine on anyone, but he loved to see truth overcome prejudices" and I think that's a really good thing. Once we find the truth we should offer it to people! And then it's up to them if they continue to search for the truth or not.

Hmm, well I honestly didn't have too many funny stories this week. Oh, except for this one! We met this 67 year old guy who used to be a world class boxer! He stood on his head for us, haha! He was in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Dad, maybe you remember those, haha. :D But that was a pretty cool experience, seeing a 67 year old man stand on his head. He also offered to train us to box! So maybe after my mission I'll come and train to be a world class boxer? Who knows! :D

Well, that's about all I got this week. But next week I'll tell you the weirdest or best thing I ate at those 9 meal appointments. :) Alright love you guys, bye!

Hello, I'm staying in Brixton again! :)

Picture 1- Anti-Hitler posters. Hitler was evil.

Picture 2- Me in my rastafarian tie! Elder Keck has one too, hehe.

Picture 3- That's what we're here to do, change lives! (I had just been flexing and stopped right as the picture was taken, hence the weird stance.)

Hello, I'm staying in Brixton for another 6 weeks, woohoo! At the end of this transfer I will have been there for the first quarter of my mission. That's a bit weird to think about. Chances are that I will move in 6 weeks, but no one really knows. So I guess we'll find out at the end of this transfer! Elder Keck is staying as well. The only thing different in our District is that Elder Rantsa is getting a new companion. So not much groundbreaking news there.

I really like this area, the members of the ward are really nice. The work is hard in this area, but there's always something worthwhile to do. So I'll have to make the most of these next 6 weeks! :) Let's see, this week was good. We met some nice people, we met some weird people. Someone called the mission office and requested a book of mormon and a restoration DVD, but didn't give his exact address. We called him and he said he lived in 666 Atkinson House. Which doesn't exist... so chances are he is pulling our leg. Or maybe he meant 66, I don't know. I'll find out when we call him again this week. But I thought that was pretty funny.

Hmm, well the only other thing I can think of that happened this week is that Jehovah's Witnesses were EVERYWHERE! One day we had been to 4 houses, and 3 of them either had JW's there or had their literature there. I personally don't have anything against JWs, but the ones we met were not very nice to us. Plus they just confuse people, which isn't nice. But oh well, hopefully we can clear the confusion for the people we meet with and hopefully they won't be so rude to us next time. :)

Well, that's really about it. I'll have more exciting things to talk about once they happen. This week and last week Elder Keck and I have been a little sick on and off, so a lot of what I remember is just me blowing my nose. And I don't think you want to hear about that. :) So I love you guys. Talk to you next week, bye!

Hello, Last Week of the Transfer

Picture 1- Pac-man!

Picture 2- A spider we found on the street.

(Sorry, I didn't take many pictures this week, and I'm not in either of the ones I did take! Oh well.)

Well hello there! It's the last week of this transfer, but you can still mail post to the streatham address. I'll let you know if it changes in next week. Next week the transfers are on Monday, I think, so that's good! I don't know if I will stay or go, but I actually think that I'm going to stay. But I don't know everything, so I guess we'll find out! :)

Well this week has been pretty good. I feel less controlled by the area and more in control of it. I'm still getting the hang of it though. But this week we had a Zone meeting with President Shamo, and that was really good. He is such a great guy. He interviewed us as well to see how we are doing, and when I when into mine my mind just went blank, so I guess I didn't really have any big concerns or problems! :D Also this week, we met with this guy who has been playing football with us. He's a great guy, and we had a really good teach with him. He opened up to us, and we are now trying to help him with what's going on with his life by having him grow closer to God. Because sure we can help him, but God can help him in the areas we can't! So that was a good thing that happened this week.

Hmm, something else that happened this week... Ah! Ok, on Friday night when we were returning to our flat, about 4 Muslims stopped us and started asking us a lot of questions and basically tried telling us how Christianity didn't make any sense. I explained how it does actually make sense, and started answering their questions but then they just kept talking and talking and then really didn't give me time to talk anymore, which told me that they weren't really asking questions, they were just trying to confuse us or something. So we just left, because it's pointless to talk to someone who isn't willing to listen. (For the record, most Muslims are really nice, but some are just a bit contentious. Just like how there are some contentious people in all religions.)

So yeah, those were some things from this week! I got to go, but I love you guys and will email you next week regarding transfers! Bye!

Hey!

Picture 1- Missionary work is tiring, yo!

Picture 2- Haha, a funny picture. It was completely unexpected. [They must have been trying to catch themselves in mid jump with the timer! And it actually worked! That's my guess :-)]
Picture 3- The Brixton O2 Arena or whatever it's called. A band was playing inside, and we walked past and tried to take a picture of all the people outside, but it was too dark.
This week was a pretty good week. We got to watch General Conference, so that was cool. It was a bit weird though, I'll explain. We watched the Saturday Morning session live at 5 PM on Saturday. Then on Sunday we watched the Priesthood session at 10 AM, then the Saturday afternoon session at 1, then the Sunday Morning session live at 5 PM. We didn't really get to watch the Sunday Afternoon session, it would have been from 9-11 PM. But it was a really good conference experience. The saturday morning session and priesthood sessions were my favorites. There were some really good talks about missionary work, and patience, and pridefulness. I just wish I could remember exactly what they said, but I don't because it was too dark to take notes. So I'll just have to exercise my patience and wait for the Ensign. :)
Other than conference, this week was alright. We didn't meet with people as often this week, because everyone seems to be busy or going through something big in their lives. I guess that's how it goes sometimes. So this week we're going to try and find new people since the ones we have been meeting with are too busy or lazy to meet with us. :) So hopefully we will find some good people who actually want us to teach them and help them. I'm feeling better about this week than I have been. I think it will be a good week. Sorry, I don't really remember a lot that happened this last week so this email will end at about here. Thanks for the support and emails and stuff! I love you guys, and will talk to you next week, bye!
